Maharashtra day was celebrated on 1st May 2023 at St.Xavier’s Boys’ Academy. It was also a day to bid a fond farewell to our guests of honour –Rev.Fr.Blaise D’Souza s.j. and Mr.Luis Rodrigues. Students of Std.7, 8 and 9 were present in the  school for the programme from 7.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.

 The programme started with the flag hoisting on the school grounds followed by the singing of the National anthem.  The second half of the programme commenced with a short prayer service. Aryan Pitale a student of Std.9 gave an inspiring speech in Marathi about the glorious heritage of Maharashtra.

 A power point presentation on our Manager Fr.Blaise D’Souza s.j. and Sir Luis Rodrigues was presented followed by heart-warming speeches made by the staff, principal and our guests of honour as well. This was followed by a song and dances by staff members of the Secondary and Primary section. A grand finale with a goodbye song and dance by the Secondary staff and a power packed leizeum dance choreographed by our Std.10 student Saiyam Shah enlivened the day’s programme.

 The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal followed by a joyous singing of our State song – “Jai Jai Maharashtra Maaza” with great gusto.
