Independence Day Celebrations - 15 August 2021

“The truth shall make you free”.

The programme began with the flag hoisting ceremony in school by our Manager Fr. Blaise D'souza s.j .A live telecast of the flag hoisting ceremony was presented to the staff members on 15th August,2021 at 8:00 am through Google Meet. The programme was attended by the heads of each department, office staff ,few P. T. A members and an officer of the Mumbai Police Department. Eloquent speeches were made by our Manager Fr. Blaise D'souza s. j, Principal Ms. Preema Noronha and our Non-Teaching staff Mr. Nepolian Almedia.

The 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence was celebrated with great enthusiasm in each classroom online. The programme began by invoking God’s blessing so that India may rise to freedom and justice may prevail in society. The prayer was followed by a story telling activity where students narrated the events which occurred before India could gain Independence and how India was free from the British rule. The play also highlighted the importance of the speech given by our First Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. It was then followed by a speech given by Mohd. Aayan Arbani and a poem recitation by Burhanuddin Kanchwala.

The Power-Point Presentation made students to think on how India gained freedom. It also brought the importance of how our soldiers are tirelessly working hard sacrificing their life and family to keep our country safe. It also made the students think how our sportsmen gave their best performance in various forms of sports in the Olympics and as young citizens of India what is their duty. The junior and senior students put up an exhilarating dance performance which was liked by all.

The programme ended by a message given by Krishna Thakkar in a form of a short reel.

On the eve on 75th Independence Day of India Master SPARSH GAURAV SAGWEKAR of Std. 7 met Shri SANJAY RAUT an MP of  Maharashtra in the Rajya sabha who is also the Executive Editor of Marathi newspaper Saamana and presented to him the money he had saved for Raksha Bandhan to be donated to the people of Konkan facing the severity of the nature. Sparsh's small gesture has set an example of how even a small contribution towards a good cause can go a long way. A very Proud Moment and a noble gesture too. 🇮🇳 Jai Hind Jai Maharashtra
