Visit to the Churchgate Railway Police Station on Raising Day – 6th Jan

We the Std.7 students of St.Xavier’s Boys’ Academy visited the Churchgate Railway Police Station as part of the Police Raising (awareness) programme. There were three police personnel alongwith our school masters – Mr.Anandprakash Sharma and Mr. Reynold D’Cruz to accompany us to the Police Station.

Sometimes there is a fear generated in us when we see the police in their uniform. However to our surprise when we reached the police station we were welcomed by smiling faces. We were taken to inspector in-charge – Mr.Chawre who welcomed us to his cabin and made us comfortable with his politeness. He gave us a lot of information regarding safety measures and told us that in any kind of emergency, we can surely approach the police personnel 24 x 7. He and his officers showed us some weapons and taught us how to handle them. We were allowed to touch and feel the weapons. Later we were provided with some snacks and drinks. With such kind of visits we learned that the police are our friends who are ready to help us in any situation and are not figures to be feared.

We were brought back to school safely by the police personnel and our teachers. It was a wonderful, great learning experience and we thank all those responsible for providing us with this opportunity.
