056 Scout Camp to Gholvad – 8th and 9th September 2023

Our school had planned a two days Scouts camp for Stds. 9 and 10 to Maltibaug Agro Tourism – Gholvad from 8/9/2023 to 9/9/2023. We travelled by a local train to reach Dahanu. We reached Gholvad and were accompanied by our scout masters – Mr.Brian Rebello, Mr.Anandprakash Sharma, Mr.Nepolian Almeida and Mr.Elias Correia (Resource person). On reaching the camp venue we were served a healthy breakfast followed by our oral exams based on our scouts syllabus. Thereafter we had a session wherein we were taught about various kinds of knots.  After lunch we had adventure activities such as commando bridge, archery and rifle shooting etc. Each patrol had to perform a skit post dinner. The boys were accommodated in dormitories.

The next day began with scout exercises followed by the flag hoisting ceremony as well as the Investiture ceremony of all patrol leaders.  It was a proud moment for all of us.  After breakfast a ‘First-Aid’ session was conducted for us by Mr.Brian Rebello and Mr.Nepolian Almeida. Regular inspections were also done to check for cleanliness of our ‘patrol corners’.

The two days camp taught us to be disciplined, alert, thrifty, loyal, punctual, courteous and courageous at all times. 6 of our students from Stds. 9 and 10 were given the ‘best scout’ badges. Maeryn D’Souza of Std.10 and Aarav Vengurlekar of Std.9 won the ‘Best Scout’ award. Patrol 4 of Std.10 and Patrol 8 of Std.9 won the ‘Best Patrol’ awards.

We left Gholvad with wonderful learning experiences and reached school by 8.20 p.m. The two days camp in a scenic atmosphere enriched our personalities with many values.
