The staff of St. Xavier’s Boys’ Academy were warmly welcomed into the new academic year 2025–26 with an inspiring session conducted by Dr. Fr. Francis Swamy S.J. The session was introduced by the Principal Ms. Monica Rose, who briefly highlighted Fr. Swamy's accomplishments. She also extended a heartfelt welcome to the newly appointed Supervisor Ms. Heena Pereira, Headmistress Mrs. Minelia Monteiro, and Pre-primary Coordinator Ms. Sandra McMahon.
Fr. Swamy set the tone for the year by emphasizing the importance of happy teachers and a positive environment, which together creates a conducive and joy-filled space for learning. He encouraged educators to maintain a mindset of optimism, professionalism, and to embibe the Jesuit value of ‘Magis’ – doing more for the greater good.
He reminded the team that teachers are givers of life and energy, and that creating a happy school atmosphere is a shared responsibility between the management and all stakeholders. The session invited suggestions from staff to help bring about positive administrative changes.
Fr. Swamy also spoke about the thoughtful use of AI tools to enhance education, stressed on the value of teamwork over competition, and encouraged everyone to build on golden memories, focusing on each other’s strengths to grow together.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Larry Pereira, and Mr. Reynold D' Cruz presented a token of appreciation to Fr. Swamy on behalf of the school. The orientation left everyone energized and united for a meaningful year ahead. A great start to 2025- 2026.
