Under the Guidance of Smt. Anita Karval (Dept. of School Education and Literacy) NCERT had arranged a Webinar on ‘Reading for learning and pleasure’ on 30th March 2022 from 10am to 3.10 pm. It was based on the 100 days reading campaign started from 1st January 2022 to April 2022. The objective of this workshop was to promote a reading culture among the children of our country. Various experts from the Department. shared their experiences and stressed the importance of reading in our life. If a Reading habit is formed among children from an early age then they will be able to improve their concentration skill, develop good memory, imagination, empathy, curiosity and communication skills etc. The aim of webinar was to promote a love for reading, develop the intellectual capacity of readers and encourage initiatives to have more libraries opened especially in rural areas. This webinar was very helpful to inculcate reading habits in children.
