As part of the Scouts Activity, the school organized a fire drill for the purpose of safety management on 4th July, 2024. This event took place in the Solagran auditorium between 12.00pm to 1.00pm. Along with the 10th std, the class of 9-1 had also joined the seminar. Our school invited Mr. Hari Nagraj an official from our fire safety partner ‘Origin Quality Services’ to conduct the seminar. He explained the different types of fire – extinguishers and different methods to carry injured people. He then gave us information on how to use the fire – extinguisher and also gave us information about the pressure meter. He told us that if the pressure meter’s hand is on the red bar, then pressure is low and if the pressure meter’s hand is on the green bar, then the pressure of the fire – extinguisher is perfect. At the end of the seminar he took us outside for a practical demonstration on how to use the fire-extinguisher. A controlled fire was ignited in a pot with a cloth soaked with fuel and covered with wood. Sir demonstrated how to break the safety lock and safety pin of the fire extinguisher and showed us how to extinguish the fire. Then he gave opportunity to the students to practically use the fire extinguishers to put off the fire. 

The students had a great experience on how to extinguish fire. Everyone was super-excited and were happy to have an hands on experience on dealing with fire –safety measures. We thank Mr. Hari Nagraj for demonstrating us the important things to do in an emergency. We thank our Principal and Scout Teachers for having organized this seminar.
