Thank you for granting Maahir M. Masani the opportunity to take part in *The Times NIE Colour Splash 2025*, a competition organised by The Times of India NIE in association with Jockey Juniors to celebrate Times NIE’s 40th anniversary.
Our school, SXBA, had enrolled five students for the event, of whom only two—Hrishikesh S. Dandekar (Class 5‑1) and Maahir M. Masani—arrived at St. Mary’s School, ICSE, Mazgaon, by 9:45 a.m. on 13 December 2025. The competition drew an overwhelming response, with more than 600 participants from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Panvel and surrounding areas.
Entry began at 9:00 a.m., with separate queues for juniors (Grades 4‑5) and seniors (Grades 6‑7). The contest commenced at 9:30 a.m. and was scheduled to conclude by 12:00 noon. In partnership with Jockey Juniors, Times NIE organised a workshop for parents titled *“Raising Creative Minds in a Screen‑Heavy World,”* led by Dr. Harish Shetty, President of My Home India.
Initially, I regarded the workshop as a potential waste of time; however, it proved to be an enlightening experience, offering valuable insights that I will carry forward. The session concluded with an open‑forum Q&A, followed by interactive games for parents and children, with lucky winners receiving Jockey Junior vouchers. The prize‑distribution ceremony awarded medals, certificates, vouchers and trophies to the top three participants in each category (Junior: Grades 4‑5; Senior: Grades 6‑7), as well as ten consolation prizes.
All participants received a participation certificate, a snack bag and a goodie bag upon departure. Although Maahir did not secure a prize, I consistently emphasize to him that participation outweighs winning, as it marks the first step toward his goals.
Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity and for motivating the kids.
Sincerely,
Mr. Manish V. Masani
Father of Maahir M. Masani
