Workshop For Teachers

15/6/2019

‘Inclusion is a right, not a privilege for a select few’. This idea was reiterated and emphasized especially within the purview of the ‘Right to Education Act’ at the workshop organized for the teaching and non teaching staff of all the sections of St.Xavier’s Boys’ Academy on 15th June 2019 from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. by Ms. Medha Lotlikar.

An Educationist, Ms. Medha has been running the TULIPS special school and has also been rehabilitating children with disabilities into main stream schools. The sessions were interactive and we revisited fundamental Principles of Development Psychology and connected it to our experiences in the classroom so that we are better equipped to manage the inclusion of children with disabilities in the classroom. The sessions were interesting, effective and relevant as they were laced with activities and real life stories. It is hoped that we become more sensitive and inclusive in our approach to our students and we will only know that inclusive education has really become embedded in our culture when the term becomes obsolete.
