Std.5 – Social outreach to The Happy Home School for the Blind on 26/2/2020

The students of Std.5 visited ‘The Happy Home School for the Blind’ on 26/2/2020 from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Our students were quite impressed after observing the visually challenged children studying the same syllabus as also lots of their creative work. They were taken to different classes and they saw the children read their textbooks in Braille, they also showed them how they write with the help of a small rod called a stylus. (We were given some sheets of papers written by the children, which will be put up on the notice board of classes 5-1 and 5-2).

Our children were very eager to know how the blind children read and write without vision and were amazed to see them doing various activities and also study just like normal children. Some of our students got emotional and speechless when they saw children of their age visually challenged.

Our students were glad to visit ‘The school for the Blind’ which made them realise how important our eye-sight is. The students realised that with great effort and dedication the visually challenged children are coping up so well.
