“Forming Creative Global Citizens”
- Theme for the Academic Year 2025–26
St. Xavier’s Boys’ Academy reopened its doors on 13th June 2025 at 7:00 AM, ushering in a new academic year with renewed enthusiasm, fresh beginnings, and a shared purpose. A special assembly, organized by the English Department, set the tone for the year ahead, centered around the inspiring theme: Forming Creative Global Citizens.
The day began with moments of meditative reflection at 7:15 AM, instilling a sense of reflection and calm. This was followed by a warm welcome to the new Manager, Dr. Fr. Francis Swamy, S.J. A dignified procession, led by the School Captain bearing the school flag, included the Manager, Standard 5 class teachers, and the new batch of Standard 5 students entering the secondary section—symbolizing growth and transition.
The Principal, Ms. Monica Rose, introduced the new Manager, Dr. Fr. Francis Swamy SJ, who in turn welcomed her as the new Principal and also introduced the new Supervisor, Ms. Heena Pereira.
A symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony followed, with the Manager, Principal, Supervisor, a Teacher Representative, the School Captain, and Vice Captain coming together to symbolize the light of knowledge and the dawn of a new academic journey.
A reflective prayer service, led by Ms. Sophie D'Mello, created a spiritual and serene atmosphere. This was followed by a PowerPoint presentation by Ms. Prinal Gonsalves and Ms. Valentina Saldanha, elaborating on the school’s mission and how this year’s theme will be embodied in school life. As the uplifting song “A Million Dreams” played, the auditorium resonated with hope, imagination, and purpose.
Mr. Larry Pereira then engaged the students with a thoughtful reflection, seamlessly connecting the theme, the presentation, and the song—encouraging students to think creatively, act compassionately, and grow into thoughtful global citizens.
The assembly also recognized student achievements from the previous academic year:
The English Story Writing Challenge, featured in the school magazine, was won by Kavish Navghare of Class 6.
The Online Quiz, based on the magazine and hosted on the school’s Instagram page, was won by Tanay Doshi of Class 8.
The morning concluded with the Pledge, followed by the State Song and the National Anthem.
With a focus on creativity, compassion, and global awareness, St. Xavier’s Boys’ Academy steps forward into a year of meaningful learning and growth.
