Pilgrimage to Mount Mary’s Basilica (Bandra) and Careergyan
Pilgrimage to Mount Mary’s Basilica (Bandra) and Careergyan : Launch Yourself (ABE Programme) – 13th September 2019
With an objective of providing guidance to the students about choosing a career based on their aptitude and interest a seminar on career guidance was organised by the Archdiocesan Board of Education on the 13th of September 2019. Our catholic students along with Ms.Sharon Buthello attended this seminar from our school.
After the Eucharistic celebration at the Basilica of Mount Mary (Bandra) and the veneration of the statue of our Blessed Virgin Mary we moved to the Apostolic Carmel School. After refreshments, the session was inaugurated by Bishop Barthol Barretto and the two main resource persons were Mr.Viren Rasquinha the former captain of Indian Hockey Team & Mr.Vishal Rasquinha an Emcee at various National & International concerts & ceremonies.
They both motivated us to follow our interest, realize our potential, use our talents and chase our dreams till we achieve them. They shared with us their life experiences, their struggles and crowning moments, urging us never to be discouraged by the demeaning opinion of others about our capabilities but to take it up as a challenge and soar higher.
After these interesting and exciting sessions we were given a handout to identify our interest and aptitude based on which they segregated us into various classrooms depending on our interests in Science, Arts & Commerce. The resource persons in these classrooms gave us some more inputs and about the career options in these specific streams and information regarding some new universities coming up which merge the various streams. They also answered our queries.
Overall the whole session was very fruitful and enriching. We thank the Archdiocesan Board of Education for organising this event, as also our Principal Ms.Preema Noronha, Mr.Larry Pereira, Ms.Marilyn Rebello and Ms.Sharon Buthello for making this opportunity possible for us to avail of.
