The Annual Social Service Camp that hosts the students from Prabodhan Vidyalaya, Ambatha was restarted this year after a gap of almost 3 years. The Social Service Camp commenced from 13thDecember, 2023 to 16th December, 2023.

86 students from Ambatha who visited Mumbai were given an exposure of the city life of Mumbai through the visits at Sanjay Gandhi National Park (Kanheri Caves), Metro Ride, Wankhede Stadium, Jijamata Udyan (Zoo), St. Xavier’s College (Centre for visually challenged), Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, shopping at Fashion Street, an evening walk along the Marine Drive promenade and a day at Water Kingdom. Our students of SXBA of the 8th and 9th std accompanied the students from Prabodhan Vidyalaya to some of these places to explain the significance of the different places and spend some time and understand the culture of the students from Ambatha too.

On the last night of the Camp, a small cultural/entertainment programme was organised by the students of both the schools. The management of Prabhodhan Vidyalaya were gifted stationery, sports kits among other things by the alumni of SXBA as well as by the parents of the present students. Our manager Fr. Arul John Bosco thanked the management, staff and students of Ambatha as well as the parents, students and staff of SXBA for coming forward to make this social service camp meaningful for everyone involved and a success. The staff of Prabhodhan Vidyalaya appreciated the efforts put in by the manager, students and staff of SXBA. The Ambatha students presented a handmade thank you card and a beautiful flower bouquet made by the students from palm leaves.

It was an enriching and fruitful experience for both the students and staff of SXBA and Prabhodhan Vidyalaya.
