“Don’t just fly, Soar”


On 8th February 2024, the students of STD 9 and their class teachers organized and hosted the farewell for the students of standard 10 in the Solagran auditorium, the programme was a heartfelt and memorable event that aimed to bid adieu to the departing batch with warmth and fondness. The program commenced with a soulful prayer song setting a serene ambiance for the morning. A prayer service followed, led by students, invoking blessings for the departing 10th std students.

Following this, the school Captain delivered an eloquent and heartfelt speech, reminiscing about shared experiences, acknowledging accomplishments, and expressing gratitude for the school.

The teaching faculty, known for their talents beyond the classrooms, showcased their musical abilities by performing a special song dedicated to the seniors. This added a personal touch to the event and demonstrated the strong bond between teachers and students. Next, a visually captivating video montage was presented, featuring a collection of memorable photos capturing the journey of the 10th standard students throughout their years in the school. The montage evoked nostalgia and drew both laughter and tears from the audience.

The 9th standard students put up an engaging English skit, skillfully blending humor and sentimentality. The skit depicted shared experiences, triumphs and showcased the camaraderie among the students. Additionally a hilarious Hindi skit about the life of ghosts was performed lightening the atmosphere while subtly highlighting gender, stereotypes and role reversals it brought smiles to everyone's faces. An energetic and grand dance performance was presented by the students. The dance routines showcased the vibrant spirit of the school and left the audience enthralled.

The school manager and principal-in-charge Fr. Arul John Bosco s.j. addressed the gathering, offering words of wisdom and encouragement for the departing batch. He underlined the growth and development of each student at the portals of Boys’ Academy through the accompaniment of the staff and the value system of the school. He exhorted the outgoing students to show their gratitude by being persons of integrity and by embracing everyone.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the school vice principal. Expressing gratitude to everyone involved, and extended warm wishes to the 10th standard students for their future endeavors and encouraged them to carry the school's values with them.

After the conclusion of the program, a photograph with all the staff and 10th std students were taken. This was followed by a special farewell party which was arranged for the 10th std students, the party commenced with a solemn prayer service. Next, the school principal  Ms. Preema Noronha addressed the students and spoke about the excellent legacy of the school and how they have the duty to take it forward.

After this, the students were given some refreshment and then divided into several groups for games. The games were thoroughly enjoyed, especially the dance contest and then the boys proceeded to have their lunch after which they left for home with happy memories.
