051 Children’s Day Report

Values cannot be taught but are learnt through actions.

Children’s Day like every year was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm in St. Xavier’s Boys' Academy. On 14th November in the Solagran auditorium. The backdrop was beautifully decorated by our pre-primary teachers and the important values were highlighted.

The students from std.5 to 10 assembled in their respective classroom. A packet of chips, a pouch, and a pen was given to each child as a token of appreciation.

The programme began with the lighting of the Samay by the Principal, school head boy Aryan Babardesai, School Vice-Captain Aryan Nakhare, Sports Captain Krish Shirke and Sports Vice- Captain Ishaan Kale by invoking God’s blessings with a prayerful intention. This was followed by a graceful prayer dance. The power-point presentation highlighted the different activities conducted by children in school and different quotes were put up.  Children were happy to see their photographs on screen and their faces lit up with excitement as they pointed at their pictures, reliving memories from the school event and sharing laughs with their friends. The skit taught the value of teamwork, responsibility, hardwork and the importance of balancing academics and co-curricular activities with fun. The teachers were able to surprise and entertain the students through this skit. Students were excited to see the teachers of all the three sections collaborate in different dance items ranging from folk dance, cultural and retro. The Supervisor Ms. Monica Rose addressed the students on the value of responsibility and commitment. Hasan Khatri the Tagore House Vice-Captain gave a vote of thanks. The Manager Fr. Arul John Bosco thanked the teacher coordinator and all the section teachers for unanimously putting up a wonderful Children’s Day programme.
