Mass of the Holy Spirit
The Mass of the Holy Spirit is a tradition among the Catholic academic institutions in which the community gathers to thank God for the gifts of creation and salvation and to seek the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit in the coming year. Keeping this tradition alive, the mass of the Holy Spirit was celebrated at St. Xavier’s Boys’ Academy on 1st July, 2022 at 1p.m. in the Media Room. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Blaise D'souza S.J and concelebrated by Fr. Saby Fernandes s.j. and attended by Catholic students of the Secondary section along with the staff of all the sections.
The theme for the Eucharist was ‘Come Holy Spirit.’ Before the Eucharist, the staff and students were requested to write their talents on the board as we surrender our gifts and talents to the Holy Spirit. Fr. Blaise gave a very apt, reflective and thought inspiring homily and highlighted the need for us to identify our gifts and talents and put it to greater use for the well-being of all. He emphasized the need and relevance of the gift of peace especially in the current world scenario which was followed by the Prayers of the Faithful made for various intentions.
Through the Eucharistic celebration the management, staff and students of SXBA welcomed the Holy Spirit and asked for its blessings in the new academic year 2022-2023.
