A recycled bird feeder making activity was organised for the students of Std.5 by the Nature club of St. Xavier's Boys' Academy. The aim of this activity was to create awareness about the environment and to teach them the importance of sharing and caring for other living creatures in nature. Students used plastic bottles, cartons, cans, wire, string and bird feed to prepare the same. The bird feeders were placed among the trees, plants and shrubs lining the wall in front of the school compound. The students enthusiastically participated in this activity and learnt the significance of recycling waste to make something useful and maintaining the eco system around them. They also learnt to care for tiny creatures in our environment – Birds.
