SPEECH BY CHIEF GUEST ON SPORTS DAY -16/2/2023

Good afternoon everyone!

I am Neha Mehta mother of your sports captain Raj Mehta... It's a great honour to be invited here and grace this event today and I'm very proud to be doing so….

Thank you so much to our Principal-Ms.Preema Noronha, our Vice Principal –Mr.Savio D'Mello, the teachers who are all cheering their favourite houses, the non-teaching staff who are ever-present, the parents who have taken time out to show their love for sports and of course the kids you ‘Academites’ who I am sure are excited and must be waiting for my speech to end so you can get to know the results.  So I promise I won't take too much of your time.

In a time where academic brilliance gets more and more focus, while screens take so much of our attention span… having sports in your life becomes really important. Because sports will never ask you for your time, fitness will never send a notification or games won't be taking revisions. It's something you have to take effort and make time for but trust me the more energy you put into sports, the more sports will give back to you.

Discipline, confidence, team work and fair competition are all values that sports teach you that do come in good use later in life... But more importantly Sports is just plain good old fashioned fun!  And having fun never grows old!

Which House thinks they are going to win this year…. ?

Will it be Kabir?  Nehru?  Tilak?  or is this Tagore's year?

Hope you all have played hard, played fair and done your best!

Thank You  !!!

Mrs.Neha Mehta – Chief Guest

Mother of Raj Mehta (Sports Captain)
