Christmas Celebrations – 22/12/2022
‘A Life without a purpose is an opportunity wasted’
After the unfortunate pandemic of the past two years we were glad to celebrate Christmas on 22nd December with great enthusiasm this year with all our students present with us in school. The celebration was centered on the theme "Christmas - A Birth with a Purpose" Our PTA members organised the game of Housie in the morning and a Christmas gift was given to each of the students.
We began the celebration by invoking God's presence with the lighting of the lamp and the prayer service. A video was presented highlighting the importance of celebrating Christmas with loved ones and how we should not fall prey to consumerism. Christmas carolers then filled the hall with cheer bringing alive the Spirit of Christmas. A musical drama in which the students enacted the Nativity scene and the different ways in which Jesus through His various ministries reached out to the sick, suffering and the marginalised was the next item. It challenged the students to understand the purpose of their lives and work towards accomplishing it. The values brought out were that of Inclusivity, Women empowerment, Selfless love, speaking up against injustice, sharing resources with the needy and caring for the sick and the aged. We then had an inspirational news segment which brought out the Christmas message of Love, Joy, Peace and Hope. The programme concluded with our talented students dancing to the beats of some foot tapping Christmas numbers. Our Principal gave us a Christmas message with the vote of thanks after which the PTA members distributed snacks and Christmas goodies to all. A lunch with the under privileged people from the neighbouring Sonapur parish was organised in the hall at 11.30 a.m.
Though the programme came to an end, it enkindled in our hearts the desire to become more Christ like this Christmas.
