St. Xavier's Boys' Academy vibrantly celebrated Vachan Prerna Diwas (Reading Inspiration Day) on 15th October to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. A visionary scientist and leader, Dr. Kalam was a passionate proponent of reading and lifelong learning. The day served as a fitting tribute to his legacy, aiming to motivate students to embrace reading as a transformative hobby that enhances vocabulary, communication skills, imagination, and personal development.
To mark the occasion, a series of engaging activities were organised that brought the joy of literature to life:
• Grand Book Exhibition: The school library curated a diverse display of books across various genres, attracting enthusiastic readers from all grades and sparking a renewed interest in exploring new titles.
• Interactive Reading Sessions: Classrooms transformed into reading hubs where students immersed themselves in books, shared their favourite stories, and discovered the joy of quiet reflection through words.
• "Book Clinic" Skit: The highlight of the day was a creative short skit presented by our students. Designed as a "book clinic," the performance visually demonstrated how a tattered, worn-out book could be carefully repaired, glued, and covered to look brand new, beautifully symbolizing the care and value we must give to literature.
The event successfully energized the entire school, reminding everyone of Dr. Kalam's belief that books are our truest, permanent companions.
