Class meetings of St Xavier’s Boys' Academy for the parents of the std. 9 and 10 were held on 19th June, Friday, for std 6 and 7 on 23rd June Tuesday, and for std 5 and 8 on 25th June, Tuesday at 8 a.m onwards. in the School Auditorium. Parents were given an orientation on the curriculum for the year and what was expected from students with regards to discipline, academic and co curricular activities.
Information about the formative, summative, internal assessment system and graded subjects like Art and craft, Health and physical Hygiene and Scouts was given by the class and subject teachers.
Parents were informed that there is a focus on certain core Jesuit values such as, Magis or pursuit of excellence, Discipline, Being Respectful and Being Men and Women for others
Parents of class 7 and 8 had certain concerns as those class rooms have been moved to the 5th floor. Our Manager Fr Dr Swamy S.J. addressed those concerns namely;
● The std. 7 and std. 8 students were allowed to use the lift in the morning to go up to their classes with their bags.
● Extra fans would be put in the classrooms.
● Over time other improvements regarding furniture etc would be made.
Parents were asked to encourage their sons to take part in all co curricular and sports activities for their overall development.
Our Manager Fr Dr Swamy S.J. spoke to the parents about the Jesuit Education Legacy which is based on Context of the learner, Experiential learning both direct and indirect and enhancing critical thinking, reflection and action.
Feedback about the school was taken from the parents with the help of questionnaires in English, Hindi and Marathi, so that we could work for the betterment of the school.
Queries from parents were taken up and the Principal and teachers listened to them and addressed them.
