The JAAI West Zone Congress 2025 brought together Jesuit alumni, delegates, and guests from across India for three days of dialogue and collaboration. The event was hosted at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, with key sessions at St. Mary’s ICSE, Mazgaon.
Day 1 began with the welcome ceremony and lighting of the lamp at St. Xavier’s College.
Eminent speakers included:
Ms Shloka Nath, CEO, India Climate Collaborative – on climate action and sustainability.
Archbishop John Rodrigues, Diocese of Bombay – on ecological responsibility and Jesuit values.
The evening concluded with a cultural programme and dinner.

Loss & Damage Fund
Zero Waste
Biodiversity & renewable energy
Agroecology, soil conservation, and organic farming
Speakers included:
Baba Prasad Lanka, Fr Frazer Mascarenhas SJ, Dr Milind Kulkarni, and Fr Joel Naronha, who presented on environmental science and grassroots ecological research.
The final day featured the Awards Ceremony with Mr Jitendra Pardeshi, Superintendent of Gardens & Trees (BMC), as Chief Guest. Province presentations, the introduction of the New JAAI West Zone Committee, and a concluding fellowship lunch brought the Congress to a close.
The Congress reaffirmed the Jesuit community’s commitment to ecological stewardship, promoting sustainable practices and collaborative action for a greener future.
