Our school celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with a special Mass, invoking God’s blessings for our nation. Next, the Chief Guests -Dr Fr Francis Swamy S J our School Manager, and Mr. Reynold D'Cruz ,a dedicated teacher shaping young minds for the past few years hoisted the flag as everyone stood together and sang the National Anthem with pride.
All present then took the oath of allegiance, pledging to uphold the values and ideals of our nation. This was followed by a spirited drill performance by the students, which set a lively and enthusiastic tone for the morning. Our Manager and Chief Guest Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy S.J., our guest of honour Mr. Reynold D’cruz, along with other dignitaries such as our Principal Mrs Monica Rose , School Supervisor, the Primary Headmistress and Pre-Primary Coordinator , then joined the gathering, adding grace and dignity to the occasion.
A solemn prayer service was held, after which Shaurya Shah, Captain of Kabir house delivered a powerful speech on India’s freedom struggle, its progress over the years, and the challenges we must overcome together as a nation. This was followed by a PPT presentation and a video highlighting the significance of Independence Day.
A heartwarming poem, written and recited by a Class 5 student, was then presented, capturing the spirit of patriotism. A melodious patriotic song, beautifully weaving together various regional languages to reflect the unity of our diverse culture, was also played. The programme continued with an energetic dance performance, followed by the distribution of scholarship prizes recognising students for their excellence in both academic and non-academic fields.
Fr Swamy S.J., our chief guest’s inspiring words, followed by the Principal’s heartfelt vote of thanks brought the memorable celebration to a close, leaving everyone with a deep sense of patriotism and pride.
