An AI workshop was conducted on Saturday, 12th July 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for the secondary staff in the computer lab. The session was thoughtfully organized by the School Manager, Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy S.J. The session was sponsored by St. Xavier's Engineering College.
The workshop was an enriching and informative experience, conducted by Mr. Maxwell and Mr. Prudhvi, experts in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics from Xavier Institute of Engineering.
The workshop began with an introductory session that provided participants with a technical background on AI, Robotics, and the Internet of Things. The speakers demonstrated how simple circuits could be run using basic code, offering hands-on exposure to the foundational aspects of robotics. Each participant was given an Arduino circuit and buzzer, and the Arduino IDE was set up on the computers. We ran a few basic programs such as blinking an LED light and activating a sound buzzer, which helped us understand coding and hardware interaction in a practical way.
This was followed by an engaging segment where participants were introduced to various AI tools relevant to the subjects they teach. The tools demonstrated how AI can be seamlessly integrated into classroom teaching to enhance learning outcomes.
The workshop ended with a heartfelt thanksgiving, where the contributions of the speakers were acknowledged with gratitude.
Overall, the workshop was a valuable experience that equipped teachers with the knowledge and tools to explore AI in education.
