047 "Reviving Tradition: SXBA Celebrates English Drama Day with Enthusiasm and Creativity"
On October 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM, St. Xavier's Boys Academy celebrated its English Drama Day in the Solagran Auditorium, marking the revival of this cherished tradition after a long hiatus. The event created an atmosphere filled with excitement and anticipation.
The program commenced with an introduction that emphasized the importance of renewing the drama day tradition, highlighting its role in promoting the arts and encouraging student participation. This was followed by a heartfelt prayer song, setting a positive and reflective tone for the day.
The first performance featured the talented students of Standard 7, who presented a captivating play titled "The Land of Lost Heroes." This imaginative piece brought together various fictional characters, including Sinbad, Harry Potter, Red Riding Hood, Percy Jackson, Robin Hood, and Peter Pan. These characters, feeling dejected because their stories were forgotten, ultimately conveyed a powerful message about the importance of reading. The play concluded on an uplifting note with a vibrant song and dance titled "I’m gonna read a book today." encouraging the audience to embrace literature.
Following the first play, a prize distribution ceremony was held to recognize the achievements of students in Grades 7 and 10. This segment celebrated academic excellence and encouraged students to continue striving for success.
The second play, performed by the students of Standard 10, was titled "Bet on Redemption." This poignant drama told the story of a boy who loses everything to gambling yet manages to retain his core values. The emotional climax unfolded as he confesses his mistake to his father, leading to a moving moment of forgiveness and healing. The performance captivated the audience, leaving a lasting impact with its themes of loss, redemption, and family.
