On 27th February, 2024, on the occasion of Marathi Bhasha Divas, the students of St. Xavier’s Boys' Academy with the help of staff members held the Marathi Elocution Competition for students from std. 5 to 9. Our judges for the Elocution competition were Ms.Dipti Deshpande and Ms.Shilpa Adinath Kamble. The day began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a prayer recited by Harshwardhan Dalvi. A Marathi poem was sung by Anshul Anchalwar of Std. 9. Aryan Babardedai as a student representative, gave the audience a short introduction about the judges and their achievements. Yasash Tandela and Kartavya Khandekar were the compères for the Juniors competition while Aayush Dongre was the host for the Seniors competition. Our participants gave their best to impress the judges by speaking on various topics.

Judges were felicitated with flowers and a token of appreciation was presented to each of them.  The judges later advised the participants on how they could improve their vocabulary and become even better at elocution competitions. Overall, it was a successful event which was carried out with the help of our Marathi teachers - Mr. Reynold D'cruz, Mr. Brian Rebello and Mr. Nepolian Almeida.
