Republic Day Programme – 2 6th January 2020

The 71st Republic Day celebrations of St.Xavier’s Boys’ Academy began at 7.45 a.m. on 26th January 2020. Although it was a Sunday parents, ex-students, well-wishers, staff members of all three sections and a few from the B.Ed College were present to celebrate this national festival together.

The programme began with unfurling the flag by the chief guest of the day – Mr.Nigel D’Cruz. Our students participated in a prayer service, skit and a dramatic dance which helped invoke the spirit of nationalism as we paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhiji too. The main objective of this celebration was to showcase current issues and find ways to resolve them. Guest speaker – Mrs.Kalpana Chauhan (SXIE) highlighted on the ‘Preamble of the constitution’ in simple words. Fr.Blaise D’Souza (Manager), Mr.Nigel D’Cuz (teacher), Hardik Shah (Student) also gave food for thought through their inspiring speeches.

At the end of the programme there was a prize distribution ceremony to felicitate our students who won prizes at the NELTAS exam and Nrityanjali inter-school competition. ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’ was the recurring thought that perhaps invaded everyone’s mind.
